Colour Mood Board

This mood bored is to represent the colours that I intend on using on my magazine.  I got these colours from my questionnaire results where people had the option to pick 3-4 colours they are attracted to out of these:
White
Red
Black
Pink
Turquoise
Purple
Dark Blue
Orange
Yellow
Lime

A magazine usually has 4-5 colours on the front page so I picked the 5 most popular to put on my mood board which you can see are:
White
Red
Black
Pink
Turquoise

The colours together have a very feminine look which is appropriate to my audience as I aim to entice a more female audience to my magazine.
Red is on my mood board and would have been highly chosen as it is the colour of passion, desire, and love.  My audience would typically be very passionate about dance and theatre and many pieces of theatre is based on love, passion and desire which is why red would be so appealing. Red brings text and images to the foreground which is why it would be perfect for a magazine because it would be highlighted compared to other magazines on a shop shelf.
The colour black is associated with Power, Elegance, Strength and Sophistication which is right up my audience’s street because power, elegance and strength is what dance is all about and what they would aspire to be which is why my magazine would be seen to be the answer to their dream.  The Sophistication side of black would high light the quality of my magazine which would encourage people to buy it because my magazine is aimed at old teenagers and image is very important to that age group.
The colour that people voted for most was white and this may be why, the colour white can represent a successful beginning which is why late teenagers may be attracted to it as they would want to succeed in life and would be attracted to a colour that makes them feel this.  White is a pure and professional colour which, contrasting with black, would create a sleek, professional front cover.
The colour purple is associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, and ambition which would be attractive to someone who wants to work in the theatre industry as they would have those ambitions in live with the ambition of the colour creating and enhancing this.  Purple is a feminine colour which would attract a female audience while using a deep shade of purple will create maturity and serious-ness.
The colour pink is sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic and charming which create a welcoming theme to the magazine; it would appeal to people as they would feel positively about it and would want to read more to get that charmed feeling.  Pink is the ultimate female colour which can make girls feel part of something as it would bring common interests together.

The colour turquoise is seen to be refreshing, feminine, calming, sophisticated, energy, wisdom which would be appealing to young ladies as this is what they would inspire to be. The energy and wisdom that turquoise can represent would be very attractive to someone who wants to go in to performance as those together would create success.
