All the fonts that I put on my mood board had to be
flamboyant to match the personality of my target audience as well as looking
professional to allow people to take my magazine seriously.
I chose to put Charlemagne STD on my mood bored as it was a bold font that was
very certain with its lines. The
expansion of the font at the end of each line shows an element of elegance and
maturity.
The French Script font is much more feminine with the curved lines and pure elegance of the writing. It looks like an old font which would attract my mature minded audience while it also enhances the traditional side of the theatre.
Trajan Pro is a thinner font however, does give off the impression of sophistication and certainty which give off the impression that my magazine would be very professional and giving reliable information.
Vijaya also has a feminine look about it as it is tilted on the side which may come across as a quirkiness and hipster feel to my magazine while the curls of the lettering adds a spark of sophistication and elegance.
Juice ICT would appeal to a teenage audience as it looks fun and exciting which would encourage people to purchase my magazine. With the vertical stretch of it, this font fits the target audience well as it doesn’t come across as too serious or grown up.
Sylfaen would be good for cover lines as it is a bold font and is very simplistic however, has a curved element which would attract females as it looks ‘pretty’ which the simplistic writing wouldn’t scare anyone with the fear of the magazine being too information packed.
The Monotype Corsive font is very theatrical and would be good for a master head as it is bold with many curves and much elegance which would attract a female audience with the taste of over the top-ness which is what the theatre and musical industry is all about.Nueva Std would be good for cover lines as I don’t think it is bold enough to be the master head however, it does have the quirkiness and would be appealing to entice people to read.
